Contracts

Parties may assign a right or interest in something of value to another. These interests a large number of different context and often relate to receiving all or some portion of money tied to some occurrence or performance of some act, like employment.
Ex. Tom’s agency contract assigned his agent 10% of his NFL salary for five years.
Ex. The big oil company assigned Jed a royalty interest in the oil it recovered from his land.
