LawDawgz is thus here to help.

Founded by a former Texas prosecutor who has been in private practice more than two decades, LawDawgz gives audiences of all kinds a spirited introduction to the law. In short videos, trial lawyer Geoff Henley and his beloved Chocolate Labrador, Annabel, explain the guts, nuts and bolts of the law in plain Texas English.

Along with the videos, LawDawgz provides an ever expanding lexicon of legal terms. Following a platform similar to the Urban Dictionary, LawDawgz will take audience submissions, including those for legal slang. The world of legal practice includes all kinds of useful terms and jargon and colorful jibes, epithets and insults. At LawDawgz, we want you to know more than just legal theories—but why theories matter and how they are put into practice in our daily lives. The aim of LawDawgz is to inform and entertain. The reason is simple. Many hold a dim view of the civil and criminal justice systems, often asserting that they are wholly unfair and pervasively corrupt. At LawDawgz, we know that no system is perfect—some are much worse than others—but we hope that by providing more information that audiences will have a greater appreciation of American jurisprudence.

Many of the early videos focus on subjects learned by first-year law school subjects. That is by design. Those broad subjects cover vast areas of laws of voluminous rules, codes, statutes, and common law citations that would fill several floors of any library. At LawDawgz, we hope to give you answers, but more than anything, we want to teach you how to seek out those answers. Law students take note: LawDawgz won’t hide the ball.
